The Rothschild and Concha y Toro Almaviva 2013 (and its second wine, EPU) is a legendary, cool-climate Bordeaux-style blend from Puente Alto, Chile.
The Blend (2013 Vintage): A wetter and cooler growing season allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to shine. The blend is typically composed of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Carménère, 6% Cabernet Franc, and small additions of Petit Verdot and Merlot.
Maturation: The wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barriques, resulting in crystal-clear fruit layers and a velvety mouthfeel.
Tasting Profile: It boasts intense aromas of Indian spices, blackberry, and subtle dried flowers. It finishes long with polished, refined tannins and a signature minerality imparted by the Puente Alto terroir.
