2008 Le Petit Mouton is the official second label red wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux, France. The most distinctive feature of this vintage is its extremely high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is very rare in the history of this second label's production.
Grape varieties: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot, this is the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in Le Petit Mouton's history.
Aroma: Aromas of blackcurrant (cassis), blackberry, cedar, and graphite, accompanied by tobacco, toasted oak, and subtle herbal and floral notes.
Palmistry: Medium-bodied with a firm structure. Due to the high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, the initial opening is characterized by strong tannins and pronounced acidity, exhibiting a somewhat classic and restrained style.
Aging: With adequate decanting or proper aging, it develops velvety smooth fruit aromas and a sweet finish of chocolate and vanilla.
