Le Petit Mouton 2014 is the top-tier second label red wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux. This vintage is blended with a very high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing a classic, profound style with the traditional framework of the Left Bank of Bordeaux.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon: 93% Merlot: 7%
Visual: Deep and rich purplish-red.
Aroma: Initially, intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and cedar emerge. These are followed by notes of tobacco, pencil lead, cocoa, vanilla, and subtle hints of black truffle and the sea.
Palmistry: Medium to full-bodied, with firm yet refined tannins (with a grainy texture). High acidity infuses the wine with excellent freshness and vibrancy.
Finish: Straight, deep, and long finish, with a touch of elegant minerality and a slightly salty, smoky finish.
Drinking Window: Now entering its prime drinking period. Its aging potential can easily extend to 2035–2040.
Food Pairing: Perfectly complements premium red meats (such as top-quality ribeye steak and roasted lamb chops) or game (such as venison).
