Miyagikyo 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky was Nikka's flagship high-aged whisky, but due to a surge in global demand leading to a shortage of raw whisky, production was officially discontinued in 2015. Currently, only a small number of these rare, out-of-print whiskies remain on the market, making them extremely valuable in the collector's and resale markets – truly a case of "one less bottle for every one sold."

Flavor and Texture
The Miyagikyo Distillery employs a special "indirect steam heating method" for slow distillation at low temperatures. In stark contrast to Yoichi, which emphasizes a strong smoky and peaty flavor, Miyagikyo's overall style leans more towards the gentle and luxurious character of the Scottish Lowlands.
- Aroma: Intense sherry sweetness, accompanied by fresh, gentle fruity notes of apple and citrus, and delicate woody twigs.
- Palmistry: Full-bodied with rich flavors of honey, dark chocolate, dried fruit, and hazelnut, offering a complex and elegant palate.
- Finish: A very subtle, almost imperceptible smokiness, followed by lingering malty and spicy sweetness.
